CHAPTER 1

To overcome my unfortunate everyday life, I’ll fully enjoy this short time of comfort.
The middle school graduation ceremony has just finished and the short break before entering high school has started. Truthfully, I should have been doing part-time jobs during this short break but I didn’t have to do that anymore.
Thanks to the group bullying I’ve recently been through.
That day, because I wasn’t able to go to work, I was fired. And because I was covered in injuries, I was also fired from my other part-time jobs.
Although I think it’s unreasonable and regretful, in the end there’s nothing that I can do.
During this break, should I try muscle training? Although I don’t think it will change anything.
Though I have a lot of things on my mind, but first, I have to find a new part-time job.
But since I don’t have much time right now, I should clean the house since I haven’t done that in a long time.
While thinking that, I immediately took out dust cloths, vacuum cleaner, etc., and started with the major house cleaning.
Although I’ve regularly been doing some light cleaning, I still found a lot of dirt now that I’m doing it earnestly.
Additionally, because grandpa’s house is really wide, it’s difficult to find the time to clean it entirely.
……..Well, I understand. I can’t escape from this reality….
While feeling down, I head to the wash basin to replace the water in the bucket. On the way there, even though I didn’t like it, I caught a glimpse of my reflection in the mirror. 
Thin and small eyes. Small nostrils and huge pig nose. Square jawed, and although my cheekbones are defined, my face is loose and plump, covered in pimples and freckles.
Thick lips and a crooked set of teeth.
Thin hair that feels like premature baldness.
This is my face.
A face that does not resemble my parents, or the twins. 
When I saw it, the feelings, that I’ve bottled up inside, overflowed.

“Ah…..Aaaaah………Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!”

I shouted while hitting the mirror repeatedly.
Desperately wanting to erase the being in front of me, I continued to hit the it despite the blood coming out from my fist.
And then, I grabbed the bucket and strike the mirror shattering it shortly thereafter.

“Haa…Haa……”

I calmed down a little after breaking it but the sadness I felt inside didn’t clear up. 
On the ground is my blood mixed with the fragments of the mirror.
..….No matter how much I scream, nothing will change about my situation.
I wanted to undergo plastic surgery. But there’s nothing that I can do without money. 
Just earning enough money for my school and daily living expenses is already difficult.
Even if I stop high school and try to work, I will not be able to get a job.
Seeing this dark reality, I felt depressed. 
Forgetting such unpleasant things, I tidied up my blood and the mirror fragments and concentrated on cleaning once more when I finally reach this room.

“Here is……”

The room where grandpa kept the items he collected from around the world. 
Back when grandpa was still alive, I didn’t have any particular interest in this place but now there’s nothing I can do but be worried about it.

“……….I also have to clean this place?”

Carrying the bucket and a  dust cloth, I entered the room. The room is filled with things I don’t really understand.

“……What the!? That face, A demon god? Looks scary……. That, what kind of figure is that?”

There was a demon god figure, and a mannequin that was larger than me.
Besides that, there are basketball-sized red squares and, although I don’t understand the principle behind it, strange floating stones that are spinning on top of equally strange pedestals.
Among those, there is also an Egyptian coffin that seems like it contains a pharaoh inside of it.
…….These are all the items collected by my grandfather……
Although I think they are amazing, For me, they’re equivalent to junk as I don’t understand how to use any of it.

“What should I do with this…..?”

Even when you touch these, nothing happens. Not even something scary. While thinking about that, I suddenly caught a glance of something placed further inside the room.
A door. A door that seems like it was cut out from the wall.
The door was made from wood with a large carving of an owl on the center and carvings of trees along its edge.

“Even this was brought home by grandpa…..?”

This door?
If we say that he indeed brought it home, then where does it lead to?
Well, because this is just a door, if you open it shouldn’t you just see the wall behind it?
While thinking that, I extended my hands towards the door——-.

“……….Ehh?”

Within the door is a very unfamiliar room.
With an interior similar to log house, the room contains a wooden table, a chair and a wooden closet. Moreover, weapons like swords and axes where piled-up like mountain.

“Eh? Ha?”

My head was about to explode upon seeing this incomprehensible situation.
And then, a translucent board suddenly appeared in front of me.

“Waah!?”

Because of it’s sudden appearance, I fell on my butt while letting out an embarrassing shout. 
When I fell, the translucent board also moved until it was in front of me.

“W-what is this…..”

While feeling flustered, I looked at the translucent board to see such details written on it.

『Skill 【Appraisal】 was acquired. Skill 【Endurance】 was acquired. Title 【Door Master】 was acquired. Title 【House Master】 was acquired. Title 【Person from Another World】 was acquired. Title 【First Traveler】 was acquired. 』

“Eh?”

The board displayed a message like the ones you found in games.
What? Appraisal? Endurance? And, another world……
First off, I stood up, went back through the door and inspected its surroundings.

“A-as expected, it doesn’t go anywhere?”

While holding the door, I inspected the opposite side but found nothing but the wall of my own house.
Despite that, passing through the doors still leads you to that unfamiliar room.

“Seriously.. What the hell is this …?”

What in the world is this door……
While thinking that, the translucent board suddenly appeared once again.

『Door to Another World)』- A door, which suddenly appeared on earth, that leads to another world.  Why it appeared, and how it appeared, even the gods do not know. Which world it is connected to is unknown. However, once it becomes connected to another world, the connection will be fixed.  Its various functions can be operated by the Door Master. Cannot be destroyed.

How? I suddenly understood the true nature of the door.
No, even though it’s good that I understood it, but the contents are absurd!?
At this point, I finally calm down and reach an answer.

“Perhaps….　It’s the effect of the 【Appraisal】 skill”

Well, but…. I’m not inside the log house room, I’m at earth. Wait a minute? If that’s the case, then why is this transparent board still in front of me.

“……I wouldn’t understand it even if I think about it but……Using this, can I not also confirm the effects of the skills?”

I muttered unintentionally when the board appeared once again showing the following.

【Appraisal】 – A skill for appraising various things.
【Endurance】 – Able to greatly resist physical pain, such as abnormal conditions and mental interference.

“It really came out”

I now understood,  the inspection of the door was completed thanks to this (Appraisal) skill.
Nevertheless…. This is getting further and further away from reality.

“In this case, maybe I can also inspect the Titles?”

I muttered, while almost embracing my now reality, and as expected a message appeared.

【Door Master】 – Master of the Door that Leads to Another World. Can use the function menu of the Door.
【House Master】 – New master of the house once owned by a wise sage. Ownership of the house is acquired
【Person from Another World】 – A person from another world. Unique growth: can obtain more experience points than normal. Also, acquiring skills becomes easier. No level cap.
【First Traveler】 – First person to visit another world. A distinct title, that exceeds the effects of the title 【Pioneer】, allowing the creation of skills and magic to become much easier. Also, Growth process is pointed towards an excellent direction. Also, 『Item Box』 can be used.

“Ooh!”

I don’t fully understand, but somehow it looked great.
(First traveler) seems to be more excellent compared to the other Title (Pioneer), and it looks like you can also use this 【Item Box】……. What 【Item Box】!?
Besides, there’s one thing I don’t understand about this 【House Master】 title. Which house is it?
While having those thoughts, I noticed the part about the menu function written under the 【Door Master】title’s description.

“Menu Function? What in the world is this…… Uwahh!?”

Again, another message was displayed in front of me. 
There, the following was written.

Functions: ≪Money Exchange≫ ≪Transfer≫ ≪Restricted Admission≫

“Money Exchange? What things can you exchange money for? Besides, what’s Transfer and Restricted Admission…..”

Thinking about these concerns, the message changed to contain a detailed explanation.

≪Money Exchange≫ – Can exchange anything for money.
≪Transfer≫ – Can make the door appear at the location of the owner.
≪Restricted Admission≫ – Only the people designated by the owner can pass through the door.
In other words, even if someone was able to see this place, they wouldn’t be able to come here. Additionally, even the door got stolen, it will come back to me, the owner.

“Honestly,  I don’t have any idea how to use this ≪Money Exchange≫ but having it has no demerit so it’s good for now.”

More than these, until now everything has been developing like a game so something like a Status must exist, right?
Thinking about that excitedly, a new message was displayed in front of me.

This is hopeless.
I can’t believe this, all my status is at 1 point…. Even at school, I never had grades more terrible than this.
Well, somehow, I understood where it is coming from.
Apart from that, what is this BP?
Also, why is the Item Box added in the skill column.

【BP】 – Abbreviation for Bonus Points. When leveling up, 10 points can be received and freely allocated.  However, in the case of a person from another world, not 10 but 20 points can be received. For the holder of the Title 【First Traveler】, 100 points can be received.
【Item Box】 – A unique space that allows the user to store and retrieve items freely.  However, living creatures cannot be stored. No capacity and size limit.

“…….Ooohh”

First, I realized that I have an advantage when it comes to allocating status points.
Even with its game like function, I have also comprehended the use of the Item Box.
Well, I have confirmed a number of things so far but there is one more thing I have to confirm…..

“It’s that room!”

Even though there was no one around, no matter how much I think about it, wasn’t that trespassing?
If the owner gets angry and attacked me, wouldn’t I have to bear it?
Even though I don’t understand this Title 【House Master】, I still haven’t confirmed its effects….
Luckily, because no one except for me can pass through that door, I’ll be able to somehow escape back home.

“……Should we check it again.”

Decided,  I headed to the room a second time.
